Make Mornings a Little More Bearable
Some people can naturally wake up with a spring in their step and be ready to tackle the day. Others, not so much. For those who have trouble bouncing out of bed with a spring in their step in the mornings, here are four things you can do to become a little bit more of a morning person.
Stretch it out
Before you get out of bed, stretch your arms over your head and arch your back to loosen things up. You’ve been lying in bed for eight hours (ideally), so it’s expected you might be a little stiff. Doing a few stretches can help get your blood flowing and wake your body up. If you’re feeling really adventurous, wake up a few minutes early and try to get a little exercise before you start your day.
Eat breakfast
This might be a no brainer, but many people skip breakfast in favor of sleeping in for a few extra minutes. Eating a good breakfast will kick-start your metabolism and give you the energy to make it through the day – or at least until lunch.
Prepare the night before
Don’t put off for tomorrow what can be done today. Take a few minutes before you leave work or go to bed and prioritize what you need to accomplish the next day. Also, consider packing your lunch the night before. These tasks will take a little time set aside tonight, but they will save you lots of time tomorrow.
Get enough sleep
Getting enough sleep the night before will make it easier to bounce out of bed in the morning. Most adults need around eight hours of sleep, but some might need a little more or a little less. If you’re feeling stressed, getting enough sleep will help you feel rested and ready to tackle whatever issues you are facing head on.
